Thanksgiving III ~

24-30 January:  This week I have been thankful for assistance from D.G.D. and a D.D.when I was rearranging the items in one of the corner lazy-susan type cupboards - one bottom shelf was a struggle when I needed to get one of the gallon sized jars out; thankful, too, to find the bolt that dropped out of the swivel stool at my desk; and thankful of a place in the Father's kingdom - ". . . Ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory" (Ephesians1:13,14); for the privilege of prayer - an open door to the throne-room of the universe - and for the One who hears the prayers and answers each one with what is for our best good and His glory; thankful for the new tie-out lead with a brass snap we're hoping will not allow the Dandee dog to loose himself and run free; and for these words about the God of Abraham from Romans 4:17: ". . . This is true before God, the one Abraham believed—the God who gives life to the dead and speaks of things that don’t yet exist as if they are real" (ERV). This is what makes His promises precious to me - I may not see what is promised, but it WILL come!  I am thankful to be living in a land where I am still free to worship without fear that "the authorities" can punish or restrain me and/or those with whom I meet - thinking of those who live in places where such punishment often occurs; thankful, too, to be accepted as a daughter of the King, with an inheritance in His forever kingdom; and thankful for this message from Revelation 22:16,17: “'I, Jesus, have sent my angel to announce these things to you in the churches. I am descended from the family of David; I am the bright morning star.' The Spirit and the Bride say, 'Come!' Everyone who hears this must also say, 'Come! Come, whoever is thirsty; accept the water of life as a gift, whoever wants it'"; for the strong and willing hands that installed the grab-bar that helps me safely to get in and out of the tub of a morning; to be able to have a part in some meal prep activities; and for this counsel from the Word: " Whatever your hands find to do, do with all your strength, because there is no work, planning, knowledge, or wisdom in [the grave] where you are going" (Ecclesiastes 9:10); for a beautiful sunrise, the sky filled with reds and gold; for the positive affirmations to the "Mirror, mirror . . . ." item I shared yesterday; for the counsel in 1 Peter 3:3,4: "Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty that depends on jewelry, or beautiful clothes, or hair arrangement. Be beautiful inside, in your hearts, with the lasting charm of a gentle and quiet spirit that is so precious to God"; for a D.S.I.L who is willing to provide transportation to St. Mary's for a lab draw; thankful for the Riggins friend who came for dinner last night; and for this counsel from Proverbs 18:24: "Some friends are fun to be with, but a true friend can be better than a brother"; for another Sabbath, a day of rejoicing in all our Creator has provided and for His invitation to spend the day together with Him and other believers; for the sunshine peeking through the clouds this morning; and for these words from Isaiah's description of our life in heaven: "From month to month and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all humanity will come to worship me, says the Lord" (Isaiah 66:23, CEB).
