Thanksgiving II ~

27 September-3 October 2015:  This week I have been thankful for the thought that I am not what others might say I am, nor even what I THINK I am - but I am who the Creator SAYS I am, in Christ Jesus; thankful for all those who are my ever present friends, including those on fb; for these words from Proverbs 27:9 (adapted): "Ointment and perfume delight the heart, and the sweetness of a woman’s friend gives delight by hearty counsel"; for the privilege of prayer - to come to our loving Father with the assurance that He will provide all we need (Philippians 4:19); for the pantry filled with good things; for songs that were written to express the praise "... the mercies and loving-kindness of the Lord ... with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations" (Psalm 89:1); for the purpose given for my life in the Word in 1 Peter 2:9: "... that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light"; that the Creator has already planned "good works" for me (Ephesians 2:10); for this message from 2 Peter 1:3: "..His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue"; thankful to wake early for a 30 minute session with assurances from the Word; for another day of blue skies and sunshine - perfect fall weather; for these words, adapted from the Amplified Bible: “Because she set her love on Me, therefore I will save her; I will set her [securely] on high, because she knows My name [she confidently trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never abandon her, no, never]" (Psalm 91:14); for the rain-showers that provide moisture for the thirsty land; for the autumn colors glowing against gray skies; and for these words from a favorite hymn: "Summer and winter and springtime and harvest, sun, moon and stars in their courses above join with all nature in manifold witness to Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love" ("Great Is Thy Faithfulness" - verse 2); for a radiant, glowing dawn that welcomes this new day; to be wishing another "Happy Birthday!" to eldest D.D.; and for these words from the Amplified Bible as it speaks of the Creator: " Who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the [soaring] eagle" (Psalm 103:5); to be celebrating another Sabbath with the Grangeville church family - what a blessing to live close enough to attend services every week! I'm thankful, too, that D.S.I.L. suffered no broken bones as he fell from the ladder on which he was working, and the pain will ease with rest, ice, compression, and elevation; thankful for the angels our Father sends when we are in danger (Psalm 91:11).
