Thanksgiving II ~

6-12 September 2015:  This week I have been thankful for a day to go driving with D.D. and sis - visiting the north of Camas Prairie to Peck, then to Orofino and Kamiah to get to the best Chinese food in this area at the China Cafe in Kooskia; for continuing rain-showers; and the Creator ". . ..who shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus" Philippians 4:19; for my sis coming to stay the weekend and play "taxi" for us; for safe travels as we did our exploring and business; for the counsel of Psalm 68:32,33 - "Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth, sing praises to the Lord! Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! [Sing praises] to Him Who rides upon the heavens, the ancient heavens; behold, He sends forth His voice, His mighty voice"; that D.D. and D.S.I.L. returned safely from their Seattle trip; thankful that another D.D. is showing a marked improvement with the change in her meds; and thankful for these words from Psalm 69: "O God, You know my folly and blundering; my sins and my guilt are not hidden from You. . . . as for me, my prayer is to You, O Lord. At an acceptable and opportune time, O God, in the multitude of Your mercy and the abundance of Your loving-kindness hear me, and in the truth and faithfulness of Your salvation answer me"(vss.5,13); for sunshine pouring through my window; for the days of cool, rainy weather that have dampened the wildfires burning in the NW so firefighters can gain an advantage; for these words from Psalm 70:4 - " May all those who seek You [as life’s first priority] rejoice and be glad in You; may those who love Your salvation say continually, 'Let God be magnified!'”  I've been thankful for our Father's answers to our prayers for wisdom in choosing the best path to follow; for unexpected offers of help from someone with no obligation to do so; for these words from Psalm 71:23 - "My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You, and my soul, which You have redeemed";  for another new day and the blessing of mercy and grace that come with it; for the really impressive abilities of the laundry appliances that came with this house - the clothes don't just get clean, they get "treated"; for these words from Psalm 72:18,19: "Blessed be the Lord God . . . who alone does wonderful things. Blessed be His glorious name forever; and may the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen and Amen"; and to be celebrating another Sabbath - the day our Creator gave all those He made for a memorial of His work (Genesis 2:2,3; Exodus 20:8-11); for the golden glitter of sunlight through the leaves of the tree outside my window; and for these beautiful words: "Whom have I in heaven [but You]? And besides You, I desire nothing on earth. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the rock and strength of my heart and my portion forever" Psalm 73:25,26
