Thanksgiving II ~

29 March-4 April:  This past week I've been thankful for delightful anticipation as I look forward to our monthly pancake (waffle?) breakfast - and so grateful to have the local group complete again (with the exception of D.S.L. who has work responsibilities today); thankful for the after-lunch drive we enjoyed yesterday out west of G'ville exploring the canyon rim above the Salmon River; and thankful for the airing of Dwight Nelson's message about our Father's continuing willingness to keep His promises - such a blessing!  I am thankful for the assurance that the Father knows our difficulties and troubles (Psalm 34:19, Isaiah 63:9 and many others), that He knows our pain and suffers with us; that there WILL come a day when there will be "no more" of these things that cause heartache (Revelation 21:4); for the peace that comes when I remember that He truly does have the world in His hands, and ". . . the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7); for the (vegan) posole ingredients gleaned from the cupboard here and my sis - a favorite from New Mexico years; for the reminder to put my feet UP when seated; for a three-month break from what have been (too) frequent visits to the local clinic - getting better!  I'm thankful for a $100-+ day at ETC. - and on an "end-of-the-month" day, too! A great way to help our community; thankful to be able to share this house with relatives visiting the lady next door (who is "mom" to the lady of the house); and thankful for a sister who into growing things; for a night of sound sleep and the restoration that it brings; for the creative cooks and their recipes (illustrated in various media) focused on the things that promote good health; and I'm thankful for the precious gift of prayer - no cost to the pray-er, and immediate connection with heaven!  I'm thankful for the lady who was walking along the sidewalk when Dandee made his escape yesterday and picked him up before he could reach the busy street - thankful, too, that he's so much a "people dog" that he'd go right to her! I'm thankful for lab results available on my demand when they're posted from MyChart - and improvement in areas of concern; and thankful for continuing blessing upon blessing; I'm thankful to enjoy another celebration of God's Creation "rest day" (Genesis 2:2,3); thankful in anticipating sharing worship services with G'ville church family; and so very thankful for my family - my children, grandchildren and the "great-grands" (and the dear others they've added to our family!).
