14-20 September: This week I've been thankful for for an impromptu picnic in a shady spot by the river; for early wakings on busy days; for
peace when my situation moves in ways that surprise and confuse me - I
don't know all the future holds, but, as the old song says, ". . . I
know Who holds my hand."; for the assurance that Jesus loves me; for my sister's gracious help in organizing and disposing of "stuff"; for "second daughter" and her commitment to getting this done; for
restful slumber and a fresh new day; for boxes of books awaiting their
new home (thank you, Sister, for all your help!); for lovely red peaches
fresh off the tree - so sweet and juicy! Thankful for help to move discarded belongings out of this house to new locations; for our heavenly Father's great love and care for our human family; for assurances He will be with us wherever we go to protect and aid in every circumstance; for days of traveling mercies; to have recalled correctly the general location of a shop I'd visited only once before; for rest when sleep is elusive; for cooling temps as the summer season draws to a close; for the moving crew that showed up to remove the larger pieces and transport them to their new location; for "psalms and hymns and spiritual songs" (Colossians 3:16) with which to offer praise to God and build up the body of believers; for this Sabbath-day reminder that our wonder-filled world is a gift to us from our loving Creator; for all the blessings of the past week!
