During this week I was thankful for a landlord who takes care of the lawn - it's a green oasis; for the quail couple that occasionally keeps company with me; for the tiny hummingbird and Say's Phoebe that kept trading places on the top-most branch of the poplar tree - quite entertaining; for the assurance of being forgiven when I stumble, or fall; for all the"exceeding great and precious promises" (2 Peter 1:4) I find in God's Word; for the rest and sleep that refresh me; for a new day of life and the measure of health and strength that remains; for the sight of a flock of Cedar Waxwings in the cherry tree; for the colorful poppies in the garden; for the beauty all around me - and eyes to see; for my dear sister's help getting back to ETC after I walked down - then returned to retrieve the keys I'd forgotten; for my growing plant collection - plenty to share; for completed lists, for packing done, tomatoes into larger pots, granola ready to bag and carry; for swaths of purple vetch blooming on the Palouse; the regal splendor of Multnomah Falls; the indescribable cuteness of Hoagie, our hosts' little PomChi; for the snowy grandeur of Mount Ranier in the sunlight; for cascades of vibrant color in shrubs abloom - don't know azalea from rhododendron here, but I can appreciate their beauty; for the little GPS device that brought us to our Marysville destination, for traveling mercies on our trip from Idaho to our destination.
