You Are Invited!

. . . The angel said to me, "Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!" And he added, "These are the true words of God."  (NIV,2010)

Here is another word picture of our Savior as He returns - not as a helpless baby this time, but as Commander of heavens armies.  He is portrayed in this passage as Avenger of all the wrongs done to His people (Romans 12:19Deuteronomy 32:35,41; Psalm 94:1; Isaiah 35:4; Nahum 1:12):
I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war.  His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.  He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.  The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.  Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter."  He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.  On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:

KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.      (Revelation 19:11-16, NIV, 2010)

Our promise for today says, "Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!"   Your invitation has been placed in your hand.  Jesus said "Come unto Me . . . (Matthew 11:28)  " and ". . . the Son of Man [must] be lifted up,  that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:14-16, NKJV).  Have you given Him your RSVP?

Philippians 1:6   I am confident that He who has begun a good work in you will continue that work until the day of Jesus Christ.
